I have been there two times with both meals better than the recent visits of the downtown ""to be seen"" places. After going to Gibsons, Smith and Wolensky's, and other various steakhouses Louies Chops House gives just as good of a steakhouse experience as do the others. Louie's does charges as much as the others BUT there is no $30 parking fee, the tables are more quaint, you are NOT moved in and out like the cattle, and last but not least who cares if you are seen there or not, did I mention you do not have to get to know the otheres you are sharing a booth with?!@ No the deserts are not a mile high costing you $15 for bananna creme pie ( not better than a posh bakery on the north side), no the drinks are not $14 (I guess the extra is for the service or blue cheese?), no you are not going to see Michael Jordan or Woody Allen, or the sausge king of Chicago but you CAN enjoy just as good of a steak bone in filet or Chicago cut what ever...the prices are somewhat the same but a little more attention to who you are and NOT who everyone else is or what everyone else is doing.
Pros: Local to the southside
Cons: not too much
