Hidden Secret of the Highest Order 2/6/2009

Lisa and I felt like going out for lunch. She surprised me with a suggestion for Indian in that she knew we were going for Indian brunch tomorrow (Sunday) with family members. Pearl was down from Seattle visiting Ron and she enjoys Indian cuisine. They'd both be there as would Jennifer and John. I suggested we try that new place we had seen earlier in the week that had taken over a prior Mexican Restaurant located near the corner of DeSoto and Sherman Way. The location seemed a bit strange and the prior restaurant was about as far South of delicious and enchanting as a restaurant could be. Lisa doesn't like taking chances. She's emphatically comfortable with those places we know to be good. Rarely do we experiment, and when we do it is with extreme trepidation. The end result is normally bad, and I'll hear about for days following. Rarely if ever have we found success with experiment relevant to Lisa's ever so discerning senses of taste and smell. I was sweating bullets as we headed up the stairs to the front door. Would this be another big miss, a 1 or worse on the Lisa P restaurant scale of 1 to 10. The moment we walked inside I felt the goodness. The lady at the door came to us holding a set of menus, She asked, how many, and escorted us to our table. The bar was to our right as we walked into the dining room. It appears to be a perfect landing for an after work-day liaison, libation or chat and drinks with friends. There must have been 30 tall chairs lined up around the entire of the well outfitted central bar. A couple high-top tables, two big screens, and a luscious lounge area complete with a wrap-around couch and side chairs. The primary dining area to the right looked a bit like Shangri La complete with a set of privacy rooms and 600 lb. head of Buddha working part time as a water sculpture. The brunch offering was beyond description. More selections than I'd ever seen. Everything was excellent. The restroom was spotless. Lisa gave Mok Sha a perfect 10. Pros: Superb dining and event ambiance. XLNT food and service. Very clean and very big. more
