Would not reccomend to people who really like indian food 4/23/2011

We went on based on the reviews we had read about this place online. What a mistake. We placed an order togo which was problematic from the start. When we go to the restaurant to pick up our food our Lassis were in sauce containers in with hot food and no rice was in our order. We went back inside to get the rice and they informed us rice was extra. I have never been to an Indian place that ever charge for the rice. Then he tried to say it was because we order Al Carte not meals, We ordered two orders of naan and Chicken Curry as well as Aloo Gobi. Last time i checked these were main courses. We eneded up getting the rice for free, got home and prepared our food. My Aloo Gobi was full of water and tasted like potato water and the Chicken curry was bland, not to mention we had ask for medium heat and there was nothing of heat on the food. It was so bad we drove back to return the food. After a long haggle of going in circle and trying to only return half the money we mentioned that we had come based on reviews online and that we were going to leave a review of out experience only then after 20 mins of arguing did we get a partial refund. That is why I am giving 2 stars not one. I have worked in restaurants for years and the customer service was unbelievably poor but I could handle that if the food was great. Over all the worst experience i've ever had at an Indian restaurant more

Not the best Indian food I have had 9/20/2010

I have been here in the past, and the food quality has definitely gone downhill on the lunch buffet. In the past, the chicken tikka marsala and the tandori chicken both had white or white meat options. On this last visit everything was dark meat. The overall spread seems to have been reduced in size too, so there were less choices. The service was good. The thing that has always bothered me about this place was the decor. It appears to be sort of run down and not even close to their sister restaurant, "Karma" located in Valencia, CA. more

I ve been to this place a month ago for the first time and my sense of taste was rejuvenated. Its interiors are an added advantage to draw crowds. All together it was a great experience to be fully fed up and hosted with great pleasure by the restaurant team. Pros: best hangout for food and party more

Hidden Secret of the Highest Order 2/6/2009

Lisa and I felt like going out for lunch. She surprised me with a suggestion for Indian in that she knew we were going for Indian brunch tomorrow (Sunday) with family members. Pearl was down from Seattle visiting Ron and she enjoys Indian cuisine. They'd both be there as would Jennifer and John. I suggested we try that new place we had seen earlier in the week that had taken over a prior Mexican Restaurant located near the corner of DeSoto and Sherman Way. The location seemed a bit strange and the prior restaurant was about as far South of delicious and enchanting as a restaurant could be. Lisa doesn't like taking chances. She's emphatically comfortable with those places we know to be good. Rarely do we experiment, and when we do it is with extreme trepidation. The end result is normally bad, and I'll hear about for days following. Rarely if ever have we found success with experiment relevant to Lisa's ever so discerning senses of taste and smell. I was sweating bullets as we headed up the stairs to the front door. Would this be another big miss, a 1 or worse on the Lisa P restaurant scale of 1 to 10. The moment we walked inside I felt the goodness. The lady at the door came to us holding a set of menus, She asked, how many, and escorted us to our table. The bar was to our right as we walked into the dining room. It appears to be a perfect landing for an after work-day liaison, libation or chat and drinks with friends. There must have been 30 tall chairs lined up around the entire of the well outfitted central bar. A couple high-top tables, two big screens, and a luscious lounge area complete with a wrap-around couch and side chairs. The primary dining area to the right looked a bit like Shangri La complete with a set of privacy rooms and 600 lb. head of Buddha working part time as a water sculpture. The brunch offering was beyond description. More selections than I'd ever seen. Everything was excellent. The restroom was spotless. Lisa gave Mok Sha a perfect 10. Pros: Superb dining and event ambiance. XLNT food and service. Very clean and very big. more
