My wife and I drove up to Rosey Baby's on the suggestion of some friends. We had high hopes, and were anticipating a really nice experience.\r

Let me preface what I say next by pointing out that I suffer from serious asthma attacks when exposed to smoke, and the Florida indoor smoking ban for restaurants has had an incredible impact on my life to allow me to experience restaurants that I once couldn't (visiting Vegas is a certain form of hell for me).\r

So, we entered Rosey Baby's and were assaulted with the heavy smell of cigarette smoke. I couldn't even chance trying to stay in there. It's a shame, because I hear they have great food. I called the restaurant later and they explained that they allow smoking at the bar only... but it's a single room restaurant in a strip mall... that bar is the same as the restaurant, with no physical separation. I told the manager that we really wanted to eat there, but that with the smoke it was just impossible for me. The only response I got is that it may have seemed "smokier than usual because of the super bowl party yesterday."\r

This is the second restaurant we've visited this week that is more-than-bending the law on this issue. I'm wondering if restaurants wanting for clients are breaking the law to turn a blind eye. It's definitely a disturbing trend for me.
