Most of the reviews for this spot read like advertisements and are by reviewers who have only done the one review. I would read them with skepticism.\r

That being said, I enjoyed my visit to Rembrandt's. They have bottles of my favorite beer - Lindeman's Raspberry Lambic - as well as many others in bottle or on tap. In short, their beer selection is substantial.\r

I had the French Onion Soup and the Fried Goat Cheese Salad. French onion soup and goat cheese are two of my favorite things on Earth. The combination was plenty for a meal. The ingredients were fresh and the food all tasted good. For a bar, both offerings were solid though neither would compete in a ""Best of Dallas"" competition. My girlfriend would say the same of the burger and fries - both decent offerings but not the best she's ever had.\r

The atmosphere was pleasant - kind of old-worldy, which is appropriate since that is what they're going for. There is no smoking allowed inside, which is nice when I'm eating. \r

Contrary to some of the negative reviews, we found the service to be friendly and attentive. It wasn't very busy so maybe conditions were right, but they seemed very happy to have us there and everything was served in a timely fashion.\r

I dislike chain restaurants almost as much as fake reviews and in the West End, Rembrandt's is a decent alternative. I would recommend it and I would go back again.\r
