I went to Baby Blues tonight because I grew up in Chicago eating BBQ all the time and hoped to find a spot on the West Coast that can provide my fix. It would be nice for once to not have getting good bbq involve being frisked at LAX. Seriously you cut my finger and bbq sauce comes out (no, I'm not fat and I don't own a cat) that said let's establish that I know my sauce and ribs. Various family members have owned rib joints over the years. This was truly the worst $50.00 meal I've ever had. My husband had hyped the place and he was so excited to share his new find with me. I wish he hadn't. I ordered the Memphis Queen plate with 2 types of ribs and they were burned...I'm talking nuclear holocaust people. No rib joint should ever serve ribs that could possibly be used as charcoal in my next backyard bbq. The side dishes were just ok and the ""hot link"" was probably a Hillshire Farms sausage thrown on that Chernobyl grill I mentioned. My hubby ordered the beef brisket and it lacked seasoning and flavor. Needless to say I won't be back.
Pros: The servers and owner seem genuinely nice and pleasant.
Cons: The food...all of it.
