Been eating here for over 10 years. It was never a great restauant, but it was always reliable for decent food. Also, a good spot to bring visiting relatives for Something different". Perhaps the closest you'd find in South Florida for authentic New Orleans style........but also above average on staples like burgers and wings.\r
Things have changed...and at this point I have to advise...STAY AWAY...it's not worth the trip. \r
They've changed their menu. Gone is the really good French Onion Soup. Gone. The burgers are now the standard frozen patties. Red Beans and Rice...also GONE with the winds of the recession, and poor decisions by the owners. On the bright side, gone also are the crowds. The place was never overly crowded, but I just got back from my last dinner there, on a Tuesday in the prime Christmas-New Years. Two tables occupied at 7PM. Nobody in the bar area. \r
Tonight, my last night ever eating there....I started with the now imaginary French Onion Soup. It's now just a memory. But then I was quickly served the Fried Shrimp. Always reliable, if not great. Tonight....a day too old with no flavor. Overcooked to boot. Accompanied with the now imaginary Red Beans and Rice...tonite it was potato salad....and that was less than ordinary.\r
Bottom-line..if you're in the area and it's just 5-10 minutes away.....go elsewhere. This place was ok to good, and now it's average to mediocre. Of course, if you're more than 10 minutes away, don't even consider it. Sorry to see a place that was once good now fallen on hard times. It will probably be gone by the time you read this review.
