My family has been members at FF&F since it opened. Once I grew up and got married, my husband and I decided to join as well. We were sold an incredibly over-priced membership by a pushy sales guy who it turns out isn't even a permanent employee of FF&F and didn't even know the policy for child care (he told us it was free, then later charged us!). Since then we've been very disappointed in the upkeep of the facilities. There's a leak in the women's locker room, the lights in the pool room have something (we thought mold, FF&F said rust) growing in them, the hot tub is frequently not working and the pool itself is too chilly for an indoor pool. The childcare leaves much to be lacking. My daughter was nervous to go in there at first (9 months old) so I sat in there several times to get her adjusted. On 2 occasions to managed to find old food (once a poptart, once a cracker) inside some of the toys and play equipment. Gross!
Because our daughter still refuses to go int he daycare at FF&F, we looked into other gyms. We found one that is clean, well-maintained, has great hours AND my daughter loves the child care. Unfortunately we're still under contract with FF&F and they refuse to work with us in any way. They won't even refund us for the personal trainer sessions we paid for in advance (but never used) and the GM, Jeff Frey, was extremely rude to my husband over the phone. I would never have thought that a 'hometown' kind of fitness facility like FF&F would have such poor customer service, but apparently that's the case! With as much money as they're charging people, the place should have new paint and amenities that function properly and be CLEAN.
Pros: Convenient location, great instructors
Cons: Not kept up, not open Sunday, poor customer service
