Price Gouging 11/13/2009

on nov 13 2009 i went into the sportsmans trading company on 101a in Amherst NH with the intentions of purchasing 2 boxes of .380 ammo, one box of 50 target rounds (90 grain full metal jacket) and one box of 20 red dot (95 grain hollow point)the owner and i believe it to be his wife was there behind the counter area. the owner proceeded to get the ammo and place it on the counter at which time i wanted to take a look at the holsters. after finding a holster i asked him to ring the 3 items up at which time he told me the total was something just over $100, I questioned the total as the holster was $14 but the boxes of ammo did not have any price on them. I have purchased rounds in the past from many different businesses and have a good idea of what the pricing should be. he proceeded to tell me that the gold dot were $53 dollars a box, I didn't even hear what the price on the target rounds were at that point as I knew the price I just heard was more than double of what it should be. after telling him that that was too high and that i have seen them cheaper elsewhere he got defensive and told me that he was the only one in NH that had these rounds, that I wouldn't find them anywhere else, and that even the gun manufactures were contacting him to sell them ammo for testing. I told him I would pass on the ammo and just take the holster (which had a price on it) and once again he got defensive and picked up the phone (in an attempt to prove something to me?) and called another large dealer in NH posing as a customer to ask them if they had any .380 ammo which he conveyed to me, no. after leaving the business I stopped at Al's in Derry and proceeded to purchase the same red dot rounds for $24.50 a box Cons: Price Gouging more
