9 years ago I took my vehicle in for work to repair what a thief had done to the door (hole punch) and center console - ripped out the stereo and bent the frame. Magnum did an ok job on the door, but awful on the console. When I went to pick up the vehicle, the frame was still bent and the stereo crooked. I argued about it - the rep said ohhhh that's as straight as we could get it or else we'd have to swap the whole dash and frame! Uhhhh yeah... so DO IT... that's what I paid my insurance premiums for. I said forget it and left and made it straighter myself. No matter to them, they got paid either way.
Foolishly (after reading some good reviews [perhaps decoy planted reviews]), I went back recently for a paint quote. I tried to get a quote via the phone but the rep said he needs to see the vehicle in person. I told him the year, make, model of the vehicle.
I get there and the rep looks at my vehicle. Blah blah, oh EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Yeah, they want EIGHT GRAND to paint a vehicle. A small sports car. He said that's the cheapest. No, he did not seem high from the paint fumes.
So I wasted an hour to visit when he could of advised me on the phone that they only do work for rich people, dumb insurance adjusters, or think the job I request won't be profitable and discard my business?
Well I guess the business model works for them - they have about 10 people working in their lobby. I guess those salaries must be paid somehow...
Sigh.
Pros: well-staffed
Cons: exorbant prices, slack work
