My girlfriends decided to treat me to an afternoon at Spa 5 for my birthday while they treated themselves too. First of all, I would never have stepped inside such a high scale salon on my own, but boy was I glad my friends knew better. Normally, I would be intimidated in this atmosphere, but the staff immediately made me feel welcomed and at ease. I started my services with a "Table Thai" massage by Laura who combined massage with gentle stretches that made me feel as though I was having an outer-body experience. I then went upstairs for a manicure and pedicure with Maria.She was very in tune to my needs and knew exactly what polish would work for me.She then proceeded to give me a great bikini waxing ( I decided on that at the last minute and not only was she o.k. with that, but she took my pants off for me so I wouldn't smudge my nails). I caught a glipmse of her next clients' gel nails as I heard her client saying that saying that it was 4 weeks since she'd been in. Let me tell you, it looked like they were just done. I have this feeling that the salon is filled with talent and I can't wait to go back for a facial. I may have to come back for my friend's birthday too. I could get used to this!!!
