Rocket Science's owner, Savannah Blue, has been cutting and highlighting my hair for five years now. I've gone to Savannah at 4 different salons because I won't let anyone else touch my hair. First off, my hair has a tendency to turn orange or brassy when colored, but Savannah always mixes the perfect color to get it just the right shade of blonde. Also, Savannah's cuts are great. She always listens to what I want and delivers a perfect result. As another reviewer here remarked, it's true that her cuts are long lasting, even on my long hair.\r

In addition to Savannah's skills, Rocket Science is a great salon. The space is funky and cool, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the conversation is always amusing. No ""hair snobs"" here. There's also plenty of street parking on or right off of Frenchmen.\r

I give Rocket Science my highest recommendation and suggest an appointment even if you don't live in the neighborhood. I live in Uptown, near the universities, and there are plenty of hair salons in my neighborhood. But an appointment at Rocket Science is well worth the trip.\r
