SERIOUSLY!! I went in for the easiest haircut EVER!! All i needed was a trim and I dont have any layers. Everything was fine until we got to my bangs and I said ""just dust and texturize them I dont want them any shorter"" well now my bang are straight up BUTCHERED! I had this great tapper on each side leading into the longer bangs and the girl chopped off one side and left the other not to mention they are so short that now I have to wear a hat for a week till they grow back out! WORST $50.00 I EVER SPENT! more

Savannah is awesome...but the best part is her stylists are trained by her and she has very high standards. I am a believer! Do not believe ruthless2012 (as if her name doesn't give it away). more

I expressed to Savannah, in as direct language as possible, NO RAZOR. I hate when stylists razor my hair. My hair is fine and I prefer a chunky, textured look that razoring can't achieve. She was talking with another customer almost the whole time, and then took the scissors and started razoring my hair. I asked for some long layers put in to add shape. What I got was the Rachel with bangs. My hair is past my shoulders and one of the layers she put in comes right to my ear. It looks horrible. I was especially disappointed because she didn't seem to listen to what I wanted. In fact she did the one thing I asked her not to do. And instead of feeling like I was paying around 50 bucks for an appointment with a stylist, I felt like I was at someone else's appointment. She took several calls, cut someone's bangs, and chatted with other customers for most of my appointment. I won't be back. It's funny that the place is called Rocket Science. Cuz after I left all I could think was, I said don't razor my hair. It's not rocket science. Then I remebered, apparently it is. more

First time visiting the city, came in from Cleveland found Rocket Science online, read all the great review, I made my appointment online on a Thursday and Savannah seen me that follow Sunday. I was so surprised that a salon was even open on a Sunday. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Great Color and Great Cut!!! the customer service was wonderful. Walked out looking like a million bucks. Had highlites & a color, and a great cut. The prices was good. more

If I could add five more stars, I would! Rocket Science has the atmosphere, the education, great vibe, and excellent customer service as being the best salon in New Orleans. I just moved here from San Francisco for the film industry, and have always been fortunate enough to have only the best stylists. I also need to add, my best friend has been a salon owner and educator for one of the top salons in the San Francisco Bay Area. So for a number of years I have also been a model helping out my friend teach her classes. While sitting there over and over again, I have learned a lot about hair, texture, color, wave, face shape, and how to hold the shears properly. Needless to say, my standards were set very high when I came out here, and had to find the perfect place. I used to have blonde hair down to the middle of my back, but finally cut it all off and went back to my natural color, dark. I had gone to three other salons and I always came out either looking like a man, or Florence Henderson, not good! I was drawn to Rocket Science because of the great reviews and cool name. I went to Dara and she nailed my haircut and color! She wasn't afraid to cut into my hair to create the mis-managed effect I had been looking for, perfect!!! I even wanted it shorter a few days later, and she had no problem with my request. Dara has by far surpassed any expectations I had as a stylists and her training and experience shows in her work. The trust was build up enough for me to have her do my eyebrows too, perfect once again. I can honestly say, the girls at Rocket Science are excellent at their craft! And the conversations between the stylists is pretty funny too, great atmosphere. more

Savannah knows her sh#t. I moved from LA this summer and never had a better hair cut and color until I found Savannah. She knows what she's doing. My regrowth from blond highlights is amazing. No more ugly hairline. And her cuts are the absolute best! Savannah is a gem! more

I have been Savannah's client for 8 years, and I have had exceptional hair EVERY time I've walked out of her salon. After several bad stylists in the past, I was afraid to try anything new with my hair, until I met Savannah. After baby stepping into the world of hair styling, I have built up such a terrific relationship with Savannah that I just sit in her chair and give her full license to do whatever she wants. I love my hair every time. It's hip and unique and makes me feel like a million bucks! Complete strangers stop me on the street to ask where I get my hair done. If you want a great cut, or flawless color, or just to feel like a total rock star, I highly suggest getting your hair done here... Pros: FLAWLESS HAIR!!! Cons: I only have one head more

I went in for highlights, but ended up with a bleach blond head, not even white blond, but slightly orange. I was horrified but couldn't manage to say anything about it. I called back a few days later, and the woman (Savannah?) that answered the phone was very hostile to me and treated me like I was trying to get something for free. I just wanted to tell them that I was unhappy and wanted to come back in for some color to be added. ( I was ready to pay for the next visit, but she didn't let me get that out.) Even if my hair was over lightened, it should not have been orange. I am definitely never going back, due to rude and poor quality service. ( The girl who did my hair, Dara, was very sweet, but I don't think understood what I wanted, which may have been my fault. ) But, it is expected in costumer service, that when you are not happy with a service, you call back immediately and things can be fixed, not wait a three weeks then complain. Instead, the woman was very rude and almost accusatory. So now I am paying a new salon again to fix my hair, then dye it again, which is a big hassle. I was immediately amazed at how intelligent this woman was. She takes it to the next level,but not in an intense way- like in a soothing BFF way. But she's exciting too. And then all the sudden you have the best hair. And you're having a great day and she's making you laugh all the way down the stairs and out the door. And then you realized what just happened- a truly talented person just did your hair and this is the way it should be. Cheers to you Ms. Blue. Pros: world class hairdresser! more

A friend I work with referred me to Dara over at Rocket Science after I fell in love with her own hair. The salon was on top of a cool frenchmen bar (no downside, I assure you) and dara's spot even had a neat window seat overlooking the street. I got highlights and a much needed cut, and I've never had such a nice enthusiastic person do my hair. It looks so perfect, like just what I imagined it! Savannah has got the right attitude and creativity to make any customer look great. I had the works done on my hair: color, highlights, cut, etc. Because I didn't ask ahead of time about the cost (dumb me) I was a bit surprised at my total. However, all my friends told me that it LOOKED like I spent alot of money on a good haircut and color. Now that's what I want to hear! The old adage rings true for me, ""You usually get what you pay for""-especially in fashion! Compared to the other high end priced salons in the area (where my friends and family go), Savannah gives you your money's worth in style and customer service. I highly recommend her. First time trying to find a salon in New Orleans and I stumbled upon this salon online. It was the best find I could have asked for! Agnes was fantastic and cut my hair exactly like I wanted it! I cut about 10 inches off my head, so this was no simple trim. It's not easy to trust someone new with a major cut like that, but Agnes and Savannah put me at great ease and definitely followed through! I recommend Rocket Science to anyone looking for a trim, a major change, or coloring. They were great! Pros: Talented ladies, great atmosphere and personal service! I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania most of the time. However, I never let anyone color my hair but Savannah! I am patiently holding out until Mardi Gras to get my hair done because I refuse to allow anyone else near my hair. I have had my hair colored in many major cities all over the world and Savannah Blue is hands down the very best colorist! I love her shop and the people that work there. A great place that I highly recommend - just be sure you leave me a few hours around Mardi Gras to get my hair done... Pros: Warm friendly place. Fun talented people at the shop. I have moved around a lot because of my job. The worst part about moving for me has always been finding a decent salon and getting good haircuts every time. \r \r I went to a ritzy salon in the quarter and was satisfied, but not wowed. Someone on LiveJournal suggested I check out Savannah Blue's place- best idea ever!\r \r The salon is perfectly located on Frenchmen street and is well decorated and comfortable- not stuff and pristegeous like a lot of other places here in town. \r \r Agnes has skillfully tamed my cowlicks and bad dye jobs. I love going to the salon because its a fun atmosphere and I always leave looking great. \r \r Don't waste your time anywhere- go to Rocket Science, ask for Agnes and leave happy! My whole family goes to Dara at Rocket Science. I am not very talented when it comes to styling my own hair but she cuts my hair and shows me what to do so I can even do it myself. Rocket Science's owner, Savannah Blue, has been cutting and highlighting my hair for five years now. I've gone to Savannah at 4 different salons because I won't let anyone else touch my hair. First off, my hair has a tendency to turn orange or brassy when colored, but Savannah always mixes the perfect color to get it just the right shade of blonde. Also, Savannah's cuts are great. She always listens to what I want and delivers a perfect result. As another reviewer here remarked, it's true that her cuts are long lasting, even on my long hair.\r \r In addition to Savannah's skills, Rocket Science is a great salon. The space is funky and cool, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the conversation is always amusing. No ""hair snobs"" here. There's also plenty of street parking on or right off of Frenchmen.\r \r I give Rocket Science my highest recommendation and suggest an appointment even if you don't live in the neighborhood. I live in Uptown, near the universities, and there are plenty of hair salons in my neighborhood. Its hard for me to find a barber that can cut my hair the way I want it done. Some friends recommended I go see Savannah at this salon. I'm glad I followed their advice. The place is cool looking and the stylists are not snooty or pretentious. Savannah made sure she understood everything I wanted and did a great job. I found this salon based on citysearch reviews, and decided to give it a shot. The online appointment system was easy and very fast to get setup on, and lets you select a time and stylist; even tells you how long to expect the service to take. \r I came in with an idea and some pictures, and left with exactly what I wanted. Savannah took plenty of time to discuss what I wanted, including how I styled it usually and my expectations as far as length/layers/bangs. The cut turned out great! I'm new in town and found the salon to be very friendly, bright and clean. Would recommend Rocket Science to anyone, and I'll be back! Pros: Service, price, attitude more
