i live in brookline and have generally gone to benny, and have not had any problems with the tailoring. however, lately i brought in several items which he told me could not be fixed - he did not have the special kind of thread, or the problem was not fixable. although i appreciate his honesty, i was a little put off when he could not, or would not, recommend any other tailor in boston who might be able to fix my clothes.\r

lo and behold, i found alan rouleau (tailor on newbury street), and brought my clothes to him - he was able to fix my items at a reasonable cost and they look great. \r

so in summary, benny is fine for your neighborhood tailor, and he does a good job - but if he tells you ""no,"" then try alan rouleau on newbury street.
Pros: a good neighborhood tailor, convenient for those who live in brookline
Cons: cannot fix difficult tailoring problems
