My customer purchased a strand woven bamboo from Simple Floors and as an installer I am unable to install it. The janka hardness rating is 3000, yet the Premium Green Bamboo install intructions say you can staple or nail this product. Reputable mills who produce a similarly hard product will tell you you can only glue their product as when it is that hard tongues splinter, staples or nails won't drive in, and even if they do leave surface dimples which are unacceptable. Unfortunately I can't glue down the product because the milling is so terrible there would be gaps in the floor small children could fall in and disappear forever. The boxes say the product is 1/2"" thick by 3 3/4"" wide......neither of those measurements are accurate. The install brochure refers to the product as 5/8"". The product is actually 7/16"". Try to get service and you are ridiculed and your install abilities questioned, yet I have talked to 6 other installers who have had similar problems with these strand woven epoxy filled bamboos. They were nice enough to send an inspector out who was obviously so biased and set on protecting Simple Floors from having to replace the floor it wasn't even funny. I am still waiting for him to return my two calls and have been waiting about 3 weeks for the manager of Simple Floors to call me back. This place is a joke and basically a secondhand hardwood store. Buyers beware.....YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
Pros: They carry hardwood you maybe could install in a doghouse.
Cons: Poor customer service, uneducated about product, rude, unreliable and every other negative word in the English language
