I attended my sister's wedding rehearsal dinner at Matthew's 1600 on July 19th and I must say that this place is AWESOME!!! We arrived a little bit early for our scheduled party time as the rehearsal didn't take as long as we thought. The hostess greated us cheerfully and made us feel comfortable from the start. She went to check on the room to see if it was ready for us and to our surprise it was! We were escorted to our room and I was amazed at how large the restaurant was and exquisitely decorated. Our private room was located on the top level of the restaurant just above their main dining room. The room was perfect for the rehearsal dinner and everything was so fresh and clean! We started with some Crab Dip with French Bread which was the best I'd ever tasted & a cheese & fruit display that was absolutely beautiful. We then had a buffet dinner with a seafood dish with huge scallops, shrimp & crab which was to die for, tender beef tips which melted in my mouth, and a vegetarian pasta dish as my sister's husband is a vegetarian. Everything was so delicious and hot! Our server and bartender were so gracious and professional and made us feel as if we were in our own home! Just when I thought I couldn't eat another bite, out came this beautiful dessert display with assorted bite sized desserts. I had to try each one and was not dissapointed! This was my first time at Matthew's 1600 and I was very impressed! We're going to book our company holiday party there this year!
