Contracted with Ace to install a Carrier unit. Showed up on Friday with a Bryant. Tried to convice me was just as good as a Carrier. I insisted on what was in my contract. This meant no A/C on a very warm weekend until Monday because they had already pulled my old unit off. Granted they did offer to put the Bryant up and then change it out but I felt like they would not be back to do that. It took forever to get the rebate paperwork from them for the Carrier Rebate and especially the SRP Rebate. They ran out. Gee, don't you think that it is summer and you are in the AC business....stock up. At the very lease print one off the internet . The person who sold me the unit told me it was a 15 seer, my invoice says 15 seer but when they filled out the SRP form it became 14.5 seer which is a significant amount less for the rebate. They did agree to cut me a check for the amount but then decided to apply it towards the Respicare air filter they were going to install last Friday. The guy came out around 10:30 am, made numerous phone calls, looked very confused at the paperwork with the unit and after about 2 hours said it was taking longer than it should and he would have to leave and someone would call me to reschedule. He also said it was because there was a crane scheduled at another job for people who had no airconditioning so that was more important than my scheduled work. If I told my customers that there were more important customers than them I think that I wouldn't have a whole lot of those customers left. So here I am with the work half done and I have called Ace 3 times and it is Tuesday at 11:30 am and no one can be bothered to return my call. My only regret is calling Ace Air for the 1/2 price AC tuneup offered by SRP. Now I am stuck with them for the 5 year service contract that I received with the unit. I am sure that if I do have any problems it will be days, possibly weeks before anyone returns my call. So lesson learned choose your AC company wisely. Pros: The person who sold me the unit was very personable, prompt. Down hill from there. Cons: Poor follow up, Do not return calls. more
