I ate dinner at La Cocina this past Saturday evening and on the previous Saturday. Both times, once we had been seated the manager explained that the credit card machine had broken ?about an hour ago? and that they could only accept cash. Hmm?if you?re going to use this old trick, at least vary the story a bit from week to week! I understand that escalating operating costs make credit card fees an unsavory prospect for restaurants these days, but a restaurant shouldn't insult the intelligence of its patrons by lying to them. La Cocina has good food and margaritas, but based on these repeated ?broken credit card machine? shenanigans, I won?t be returning.
