My previous Neurologist with Vanderbilt has been on leave so I went to Dr. Hoos. What a mistake. I have severe migraines and when I am out of medication they require me to come in for a shot! Anyone with migraines knows just getting out of bed is difficult - driving yourself 20 miles, parking at Baptist and making it into his office is absurd. Anytime I need care I was required to see Dr. Hoos in person unlike any physician I have ever seen. I was in dire pain one time and requested a refill of codeine (5 pills) and his nurse said ""No, that is a controlled substance. You can come in and see him and get a refill"". I had only had one previous prescription and it had been months! So I had to lay in horrible pain for 12 hours. Last I actually went in for the third time out of desperation to get a shot and the nurse said ""I have to give you two shots now not just one. We had been mixing the medicine previously and we just found out that we can't. It is not effective""! I have not found another good Neurologist since my last but I would rather wait 2 months for an appointment with her than ever see him.
Cons: Rude, uncaring, lack of attention, very little knowledge of migraines.
