It's true that B&N has an extensive collection of books. If every local mom and pop store had millions of dollars from investors, they could afford strip mall storefronts with thousands of square feet to stock all the books ever written, too. Nevermind the fact that any independent shop will special order anything you need and can usually have it within a week. Nothing special about the B&N members program, either. Most independent stores offer a similar frequent buyers program as well. And a Starbucks as a selling point? Give me a break. There is no difference b/t Wal-Mart and Barns & Noble in my mind. They're both killing the local retailer, taking money out of the community and promoting a lazier America.
