This magical theater should be put on the endangered species list. Everything about this place is completely endearing, right from the ""Admit One"" stubs to the real popcorn served with real butter and the free pixie sticks at the concession stand. The theater has only two screens but management seems to make very good use of the limited space with a tasteful selection of titles. You are unlikely to see the big summer blockbusters here but this is a perfect spot for an indy film or a romantic flick. The best thing is there is SO MUCH to do in the neighborhood before/after the movie you could make a full day out of it. There are several great restaurants on Henry street and the bar next door to the theater serves excellent finger food and a wide variety of beer on tap. The Fulton landing with it's breathtaking views of the Brooklyn bridge and the skyline of downtown Manhattan and the Brooklyn Ice cream Factory are just a short walk away.
Pros: never crowded, top selection of movies, real popcorn/butter
Cons: only two screens
