Sadly discriminatory and arrogant. 4/11/2008

Sadly, although it positions itself as high-end, in reality it's low, and I cannot recommend this restaurant. \r \r First, a visit for lunch with a male friend resulted in lackluster and profoundly slow service, less-than-ordinary tasting food -- and a bad feeling for the spirit. Far worse was the attempt to accompany a female friend for a Sunday-morning breakfast. I don't eat breakfast, and while she ordered a lavish omelette, I was quite happy with a cafe au lait and a good croissant. Incredibly, the man who I believe is (or was) the owner completely refused to serve me, saying ""We don't want to be known as some little cafe for a coffee and something small."" (My responses -- that I certainly wouldn't tell anyone about my small order, and that my companion was ordering a prodigious meal -- fell on deaf ears.)\r \r We ended up leaving, angry and dissatisfied. And although other friends have suggested going there -- it's just around the corner from our homes -- when I relate this story, I always manage to convince them to go elsewhere. I hope you do, too. One simply cannot condone that degree of arrogance and discrimination. Pros: Interesting turquoise exterior. Cons: Horrible service, disgusting treatment. more
