Pace's is a Bountiful icon. It has been around since the '50's, but unfortunately, the service and food is not at the same high standards it once was. It is sad that the management (apparently not the original) has allowed the quality of the food and service (especially) to go downhill. The past three times I've eaten at Pace's, our food was either cold (too long of a wait) or our order was wrong. Also, there were five tables that needed cleaning, and we had to ask for someone to come out and clean one off. After waiting nearly five minutes, we finally did it ourselves. The people behind the counter seem very indifferent as to who is next or whether you are there or not. They act like they can't wait for you to just go away. Overall, the food isn't as good as it once was. The french fries are generally cold and dried-out. The hamburger meat tastes old. The jet bars and the other ice cream treats are still pretty good, however. Maybe this is the only thing that keeps Pace's going, because the quality of the rest of the food is nowhere near what it used to be, which is really too bad. I prefer the Pace's Drive In in Layton, which I understand is separately-owned from the Bountiful Pace's. This may explain the difference in quality, service and cleanliness.
Pros: Fun decor. Great ice cream and frozen products. Ample parking.
Cons: Unsatisfactory service. Not as clean as in the past. Food quality is below past standards.
