Why does this happen when a great NY restaurant opens here in LA it goes downhill? The hype is over rated. NY is much better. It was pretty empty for a Saturday night but I will give it to them that they are newly open. The wine sommelier was very helpful and the popovers were amazing but that is where it all ended. The decor and ambiance is great on the Sunset Strip. Unfortunately food could not match that. We started with the Burata and tomato salad which was good. The server had recommended the Sole and indicated that the side dishes are very small so we may want to order more. We decided on the special peas for the evening.. When our Sole came out it was cold and when sent back it came luke warm and rubbery the second time. The peas were really for 1 person and not great to be the special. When we got the check we were shocked on how much it was. The bill was more then what it would have been at Mastros or Cut. You could get much better elsewhere. Skip the food and hang out at the bar instead.
Pros: wine sommelier and the popovers
Cons: no smoking on patio on the sunset strip
