She observed that the dog had bloood coagulated on his ears and when she had bought him (they again wanted $400 and she was able to get him for $250 because there was a pet adoption competing with Pollywood) and taken him to the vet was informed that the dog suffered from horsefly bites and had a yeast and bacterial infection in both ears. Also, the vet said that the paperwork made no sense and that the dog could not be part shi-tzu, and that it looked like the dog had had its hair virtually scalped from it's back (probably to remove clumping). A couple months later she went back to, at this point, see if she could RESCUE any more of these animals and get them the proper care and a good home and Shelley proceeded to show her the paperwork of another dog...low and behold! The paperwork for THAT dog was the exact same form that she had for the dog that she had previously bought. All of this can (and most likely will) be backed up by documentation. Now...that was my friends experience.
