My first massage at Kinnaree was so effective that I feel I wasted my money at every other massage and physical therapy clinic I've been to. Thai massage is very different from the swedish and deep tissue massages I used to get. You lie down on a comfortable, heated mattress instead of a clinical massage table. They use their hands, feet, arms, and legs to gently stretch all of your tight muscles. The first time it can be uncomfortable, but that's because it's actually working on muscles you never knew you had! They'll give you a soothing massage if you ask for it, but their traditional techniques are meant for therapy. I felt fit and rejuvenated after the first massage, helping heal damage from 20 years of rigorous Army life. Kinnaree's environment is quiet and relaxing with soft red toned decorations, wood panelling, pleasant smells, and soothing traditional thai meditative music. Thai massage feels like the therapist is a partner in your healing rather than a person providing a service. At $1 a minute, you can get an amazing 2 hour session for the same price you'd pay for 1 or 1.5 hours someplace else. Parking is easy to find. There are many places closer to me, but Kinnaree is well worth my drive to Mill Valley. I'm recommending them to everyone because I want this business to thrive so I can keep going back.
Pros: Most effective massage ever, comfortable and relaxing environment
Cons: Must drive there from San Francisco, but only 15 minutes and well worth it
