I have been in Portland for over a year now (moved from NJ), and have been desperately seeking great Indian food. I am pretty picky with Indian food, and this is the best place I've found in Portland. The food is not as heavy as other Indian places, and it tastes very fresh. The naan we ordered was freshly made and buttered. The vegetable entree (paneer karai) very nice--not quite like the paneer karai of India or NJ, but very delicious. The ""medhu vada"" with the coconut chutney was fantastic. Try the South Indian sampler if you have not had South Indian food. It was delicious. Everything was hot, fresh and quick. The service was very friendly as well.
