Worst

worst food... worst service... I went after seeing good reviews.. but I guess these are fake reviews... not real !!

LUNCH BUFFET IS DIVERSE! 7/19/2011

So first off is the bad. The wait staff do not speak very good english, they take quite a while to make any food - especially to go. However that said their food is quite good. The naan was undercooked when I had it but that could have been a bad batch. The lunch buffet has more diversity than you will find at other places. 99% of every menu item I have tried here was delicious and 1% because its not my personal taste preference. Even better is that you can have them delivered to your front door if you live in the area by calling DELIVERED DISH. Yum! \r more

Great Indian Food 11/23/2008

We really liked our first meal at Lentil Garden last night. We ordered curries and all 3 were great. The nan is perfect, soft and doughy, not heavy. There's an extensive menu and the service is warm and attentive. .\r You know how hard it is to find a restaurant in the Beaverton Hillsboro area that isn't a big overpriced impersonal mess - go to Lentil Garden and meet the family that cooks your dinner. Pros: good food, family run, nice atmosphere, lots of parking more

A Delight 3/22/2008

We decided we wanted a nice inexpensive breakfast out and I had never had Indian for breakfast. The first reviewer on this list is accurate in his description. The food is delicious and flavorful but the spices down overpower your pallet. Our waiter had a nice, friendly and soft spoken demeanor. He very patiently described what he breakfast menu provided. I enjoyed the Medhu Vada, which is like a savory donut with three different sauces. Delicious. The plain dosa was gently sweetened and was very light and went well with the sauces. I couldln't tell you what they were but one was surely lentil based. mmm. ok this place is just down the road from us since we're in the Tanasbourne area but it wouldn't disappoint if you drove in from Portland. Especially if you enjoy Indian food. more

Best South Indian cusine in Portland Metro 3/5/2008

I have literally been to every Indian restaurant and food cart I can find in Portland metro, and Lentil Garden is hands-down, the best. I've been eating here for about a year now, and was jazzed this week to find that they had greatly expanded their menu. Whohoo!\r \r If you haven't been to Lentil Garden, then you owe yourself the pleasure. Southern Indian cuisine is a bit more subtle than the Punjabi style cuisine that you may be used to. It doesn't have to be spicy (hot, hot, hot) to be good. Although, when it's appropriate, the heat is definitely on. The chef can blend spices to wake up every taste and smell sensation in one bite without burning it out for the next. That said, the pepper rasam is not for the faint of heart. It's HOT, like it should be.\r \r There are also lots of great dishes that only South Indian chefs know how to make. Try the dosa once, and you'll be hooked. Idly is yummy! Utapam is out of sight! Try something new each time you come back, like I have, and you'll never be disappointed. There is even a breakfast menu (that's right, I said breakfast) on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They serve traditional Indian breakfast dishes for about three bucks each. Awesome!\r \r Okay, okay, you're probably thinking that this place is almost in Hillsboro, and who would want to drive way out there just for dinner? Right? Well, try it once and you'll be back for breakfast... and the lunch buffet. It's right next to a ton of stores, so you can call it a ""shopping"" trip :-). Yeah, that's the ticket. If you're lucky enough to live close by, and you haven't been there, then you are seriously missing out.\r \r Oh. Don't try to find this place using the map link provided by CitySearch. It's broken. The place is out by Tanasborne, not by Beaverton Town Square as the CitySearch map suggests. Google the address and you'll get the correct directions. Pros: Flavorful, Wonderful Food, Awesome Service, Attention to Cleanliness Cons: Sometimes cold inside. more

Fresh delicious Indian food 2/27/2008

I have been in Portland for over a year now (moved from NJ), and have been desperately seeking great Indian food. I am pretty picky with Indian food, and this is the best place I've found in Portland. The food is not as heavy as other Indian places, and it tastes very fresh. The naan we ordered was freshly made and buttered. The vegetable entree (paneer karai) very nice--not quite like the paneer karai of India or NJ, but very delicious. The ""medhu vada"" with the coconut chutney was fantastic. Try the South Indian sampler if you have not had South Indian food. It was delicious. Everything was hot, fresh and quick. The service was very friendly as well. Pros: Fresh food, excellent prices, and good service Cons: Whenever the door opens it brings in cold air more

Excellent Indian food 11/9/2007

Excellent Indian food, I especially like the Gobi Manchurian. Worth a trip! Great for take-out, too. more
