Great fish and chips 2/3/2008

This small restaurant in a strip mall was bustling with customers on the Saturday afternoon I visited. I knew it had to be pretty good since the line was at the door, and the few tables they have were all taken. You place your order at the counter after reading the menu on the huge chalkboard, you have a direct view of the fryers and can see the fish coming out. They also serve beer here which goes well with the fare. I got the cod half portion which was plenty of food. They put salt and vinegar on everything, but the vinegar flavor is not strong at all and I found myself adding more at the table. It took a surprisingly long amount of time for our order to finally be ready, I'd say we waited about 30 minutes. Everything was piping hot when it arrived. For fish and chips I'd say this is the best I've eaten. However, be warned if you are not used to eating a lot of fried food, this is very oily. Eating all this eventually caught up to me and my digestion suffered for the rest of the day. While I like the concept of this restaurant and the quality of the food is good, I won't be eating this more than once per year. Pros: best fish and chips around, good value, beer Cons: small place, hard to find a table when crowded, food is very heavy and oily more
