Went to the Wildlife World Zoo on a recent visit to the Phoenix area. First, I was shocked at how much the entrance fee was. It's nearly the same price as the world-class zoo we have in Seattle. The animals are in cages made of chain-link fencing and lumber that look like they have been in place for over 30 years. Larger animals are in basic enclosures with some kind of plywood structure to offer shade. Nothing has been done to even make visitors feel like these animals are living in a re-creation of their natural habitats. This zoo could definitely use some fixing-up, not just for the animals, but the visitors too. They do have an area where you can feed the giraffes, which was a great experience for the kids and adults in our group. I was also put off by the fact that after you pay the entrance fee, all the other attractions in the zoo cost extra, there is a train, boat tour and overhead tram that you can ride - but keep that wallet handy! If you're visiting the Phoenix area, this is probably one attraction you can skip, you won't be missing much. Pros: Feeding the giraffes, petting zoo Cons: Run-down facilities, expensive more
