I cannot praise VCA enough for how they have helped my dog.\r

My golden retriever developed bloat and was dying. I brought her in to VCA at 1am. By 2am she was x-rayed, diagnosed, and in surgery with a specialist. She spent 2 days in the ICU. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about when she said they were mistreating dogs; perhaps she is just unfamiliar with how dogs respond as they come out of anesthesia after surgery which does sound very pained and awful. I was back in the ICU while my dog was there. They let me sit in her kennel with her for as long as I wanted. They cooked her turkey, offered peanut butter on a stick, and provided all kinds of things to me as I tried to get her eating again. The staff was extremely caring and considerate of me, my dog, and the other owners and dogs there. \r

The price was expensive, as is to be expected for the kind of treatment she received, and I did not think it was unreasonable. I wouldn't want to go to a discount emergency vet
