The tone of a friendly, warm and inviting space was set by Jennifer and Yunique (spelling?), the two ladies, who greeted me upon entering Canela Spa. I was offered tea, water and a comfortable area to wait for my massage. I have been to many spa salons throughout the New York area as well as around the country and in Europe, and the treatment I received at Canela would rival any of the spas I've been to. My masseur, Delfin, was fabulous - he was attentive, professional, and very knowledgeable about the body and techniques he used. I am a dancer, teacher, and performer and use my body quite a bit. I was very pleased with my massage and will be returning soon to have Delfin work out the kinks. I would certainly recommend Delfin and Canela to my friends.
Pros: The atmosphere is conducive to healing. And, there are a lot of shops and restaurants in the area.
Cons: Parking is a problem - but you'll be happy once inside
