I placed a grubhub.com order for szechuan chicken, some steamed rice and two tapioca drinks with The Pearl House and was told that the estimated time for delivery would be 40 minutes. 1 hour and 20 minutes later I received not food but a call notifying us that The PEARL House was out of tapioca pearls.
Would grass jelly be all right?
Well, it was 9:00pm at that point and I didn't have a way to prepare dinner so I asked how long it would take, if I agreed to the grass jelly, to get our food. They said 15 minutes, and, due to overwhelming hunger, I agreed.
45 minutes LATER I got a call, picked up the phone and the line went dead. I called back and received no response, so I got up and went downstairs just to check if the delivery was finally here. Lo and behold, a man with a thick accent handed me two bags and, after 5 minutes of rummaging through his car, my change. I will never be ordering from The Pearl House again.
