Pearl House

Decent food. Can't complain on that front. My only suggestion would be to wait a few more minutes after GrubHub says the order is ready for pickup before actually going to pick it up. Despite being told my order was ready, it wasn't when I went in to get my food, but I'll cut 'em some slack. Despite having been open for only 30 minutes or so, they seemed to already be slammed with a bunch of other online orders and deliveries, so the delay was understandable. more

The delivery took over an hour and a half and the food was cold when it arrived. Both meals I ordered were practically inedible. I ended up throwing it away without eating more than two bites. The stomachache that would've happened later wasn't worth the money I paid for the meal. more

Always fast delivery and they honor my requests for paper boxes instead of plastic containers (since I'd rather be able to compost those) and no extra sauce packets (already have a drawer full - don't we all?), which I really appreciate. As for the food, the kung pao tofu is spicy yumminess and I could eat the chow mein for days. Also been getting veggie mu shu which is excellent. Pearl House is definitely my go to for Chinese food and it's so easy to re-order on GrubHub! more

The food is good, but the delivery time keeps growing longer and longer. It used to be an hour, now it is an hour and a half. We have tried different times of day and different days. Still an hour and a half. more

I placed a grubhub.com order for szechuan chicken, some steamed rice and two tapioca drinks with The Pearl House and was told that the estimated time for delivery would be 40 minutes. 1 hour and 20 minutes later I received not food but a call notifying us that The PEARL House was out of tapioca pearls. Would grass jelly be all right? Well, it was 9:00pm at that point and I didn't have a way to prepare dinner so I asked how long it would take, if I agreed to the grass jelly, to get our food. They said 15 minutes, and, due to overwhelming hunger, I agreed. 45 minutes LATER I got a call, picked up the phone and the line went dead. I called back and received no response, so I got up and went downstairs just to check if the delivery was finally here. Lo and behold, a man with a thick accent handed me two bags and, after 5 minutes of rummaging through his car, my change. I will never be ordering from The Pearl House again. more

Cold and rainy outside, delivery was the only option for me, (with no vehicle!) I was hesitant after reading a few of the past reviews. I ordered by phone. However, food arrived earlier than the quoted time. Ordered the chicken w/vegetables, plenty of chicken, and enough for two or three people! It had a light sauce that allowed for the chicken and vegetables to not have that smothered taste, but allowed for their flavors to be prevalent. Also had steamed rice on the side. and spring rolls. Spring rolls were crisp and tasty, one was a little burnt on the end, but didn't cause me to lose sleep over it, lol. Also ordered the strawberry smoothie, very interesting. with all the "pearls" in it. I'm not sure what they are, (chewy kinds of round balls,) but so what. To take into account the fact they would get stuck in a regular sized straw, there was an extra wide straw with the drink, neat! more

The food was exceptional -- fresh, not greasy, some of the best chow fun I've ever had. Portions were generous. Service was prompt and the delivery guy was super nice. more
