I stopped in to this tucked away gem for the first time to have lunch. The decoration is straight from Holland... the yellow walls lend warmth and a collection of Dutch antiques lines the wall closest to the kitchen. Directly in view when you walk into the restaurant is giant reproduction of one of Rembrandt's seminal works on canvas: Night Watch. The theme is consistent and quite well done.\r

On my first visit, I ordered the beef croquette. It was served with freshly ground mustard and frites that evoked memories of European vacations. The beef was seasoned perfectly and the mustard had more nose tingling credibility than I was expecting. I finished off my meal with a coffee made from the shining machine at the end of the bar and smoked a cigarette sitting on the patio.\r

The service was attentive and the food arrived promptly and exactly as ordered. I have since returned to Cafe Rembrandt quite regularly and now enjoy the bar even more than the excellent food. The owner, Holland native Ronnie Smeink, has missed no detail in setting up a wonderful place to eat and drink.\r

The pricing on the menu is reasonable and represents excellent value for the quality of the food served and the atmosphere that it is served in.
Pros: Beautifully decorated, great food, excellent drink selection
Cons: Dallas does not allow smoking in restaurants
