The worst service ever!! 8/2/2007

Okay, so I went tonight and I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to the experience. I had only been once before - years ago - and was eagerly anticipating scrumptious food and wonderful service, just like I'd enjoyed so much before.\r \r Wow. What a resounding disappointment. I should have known that the night would be a bust the second the college-aged hostess told us that our 8PM reservation wouldn't be ready for 15 minutes. Fine, no problem. We understand this is a busy, popular restaurant and that this is how things work. But 15 minutes turned into an hour and a half, and each time we asked this particular hostess how much longer, she rolled her eyes and barely acknowledged us. Frankly, it was humiliating. She couldn't even remember our name, despite four or five visits to the host stand to find out when we would be seated.\r \r Here's the kicker: When we were finally shown to our table - again, ninety minutes later - by a different hostess (who was quite charming), the original hostess ran back to our table and EJECTED US! She said the table actually belonged to another couple!! I have honestly never been so angry or frustrated in my entire life.\r \r We waited another 20 minutes before we were seated again. By then, I was feeling like an idiot for even staying there and not storming out, but we had already invested so much time that we were hell-bent on getting our damned food. \r \r Frankly, if the meal was yummy, I didn't know it. The experience with the bitchy hostess had left such a bad taste in our mouths that we really couldn't judge anything else. For two hundred and fifty dollars, we had been treated like uninvited guests at a family reunion. \r \r I will never return. Pros: The view, the clientele Cons: The service, the interminable waits, the unrealistic reservation policy more
