Although the ambiance was nice (warm and kind of eclectic) and the service was pretty good, I was really disappointed with the taste of the food. The coffee required cream and sugar to be drinkable, and the huevos rancheros tasted as you'd expect in a bad midwestern breakfast spot - the ingredients tasted fresh and were prepared reasonably well, but what about good Mexican flavor? I had to dig around to find any verde sauce, and when I did I found it to be bland and didn't add much to the meal. I ended up having to douse the dish in Mexican hot sauce from a bottle, which resulted in a meal I could have made at home. I wish I could chalk this bland experience to lack of ethnic authenticity, but my partner's breakfast of eggs and sausage was a disappointment too.
Pros: wasn't terrible
Cons: wasn't great, either
