Being a first time visitor to Austin from Maryland, the Belmont came recommended to us from our concierge. Our group chose to dine inside for dinner, however the next day we revisited so we could sit in the patio and enjoy the palm trees and music. Although it was very busy, the host greeted us right away and we sipped a cocktail while waiting for our table and met some friendly locals. We almost expected a little attitude from the staff but found our server to be unpretentious, friendly and knowledgeable. A suggestion of appetizers of French onion soup and friend calamari were outstanding. The crispy slices of jalapenos in the calamari added a tasty Texas twist, and the soup had ample amounts of cheese. Entree portions of the chopped salad with roasted chicken are humongous! We loved Austin, and definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting.
Pros: beautiful decor, big portions, very good service
Cons: might not be a good choice for kids
