Good seafood, but too noisy and overcrowded 6/11/2007

My wife and I had dinner reservations on a Wednesday night (5/30) and upon arrival we were ushered to the overcrowded and noisy Lounge area. We opted to wait a few minutes to be seated in the main dining area which was only slightly less crowded and just as noisy. Our waiter was knowledgeable, prompt and sympathetic to the fact that we were given a tiny table wedged between a fire exit and two other larger tables. In fact, we were so close to an adjacent table that when a gentleman next to us spilled his water most of it landed on our table. Additionally, our section manager asked the dining parties to our left and right about their dining experience but completely ignored us. We had oyster for appetizers which were fresh and medium size. We both had the trout for our entrees. The serving size was generous and the food was fresh. The dessert menu lacked key lime pie, so opted for fresh mixed berries. We had a half bottle of chardonnay. When we were finally able to flag down an alternate manager, he did confess that we were seated at a poor table and explained that the manager who previously ignored us was new on the job. The later manager did comp our entrees (despite our objections for him no to) and he sincerely apologized. Even with that, the noise, overcrowded atmosphere and slightly above average seafood is enough to steer us away from Eddie V's in the future. Pros: Fresh seafood, Proximity to downtown nightlife Cons: Noisy, Overcorwded, No key lime pie more
