1 year ago, after trying Genia's a few times, we wrote a ""recommended review"". However, the past 2 times, Genia's has not been able to meet prior expectations. It's unfortunate, as we really try to support the mom and pop restaurants and the owner is one of the most gracious, kindest people in the restaurant business we've come across. The food is mediocre and over priced. They have such a small menu and the wine list has also suffered (small and out of many bottles and over priced poorly selected wines). We haven't been back since prior to the rennovations or the new chef, but our last visits told us this place is really hurting. I think if they reconstructed their menu to encompass fresh menu items at a reasonable price, they would have something. But when they are asking top dollar with mediocre food, it's difficult to choose to go to Genia's when there are so many other places in the same price range that offer a more diverse, and frankly, better tasting cuisine. Not to mention they are no longer passport members, which always made dining there a bit more affordable.
