Don't listen to them, but read the contract carefully. When I became a member, the guy told me that it's easy to cancel the membership and recommended me to make one-year contract. But actually it's not easy, you need a proof of moving out far away, 30 miles away from their facility or proof of disability to cancel the contract. 30 miles is insane and that you don't want to go cannot be a reason.
