It is an unusual experience to have a medical professional speak to you in a way that allows you to understand yet not feel belittled. I L-O-V-E Dr. Tom Skadron. Everyone else does too and his schedule shows it -- he is starting to be a little bit tough to get an appointment with due to demand but it is worth it. I have had the opportunity to see the other Dr.s there and they have all been excellent. I brought my new puppy in recently and was able to ask and have answered any question and concern that came to mind. The place is always swarming with people and their pets which is usually really fun. I love that the practice has computerized records -- no paper folders which seems to allow them to quickly review old lab work and files. Even the xrays that were taken of one of my dog's paw shows up on this little computer the Dr. carries around. This practice is also the only one in our area that is certified by the American Animal Hospital Association. I found that out by going to the AAHA web site to look for an accredited practice when I moved to St. Paul. My favorite part of bringing my pets there is the interaction of the Doctors and the pets and their families. At other practices I have been to, the doctor would spend very little time in the room and it is actually the nurse that does most of the interaction with us and our dogs. Skadron's seems to be the opposite. The Dr.s do the entire exam and have time to consider questions, concerns, and the well being of our pets. Really great combination of ultra modern equipment and old fashioned interpersonal , and doctor patient relations. I would take my kids there if they would hire a pediatrician! Really great.
Pros: Excellent Old fashioned sevice and also very up to date. Caring.
Cons: Dr. Skadron was not available on the morning that I wanted to see him recently, but I guess I can't expect him to be popular and available every time I need want him to be.
