I had such high hopes for this restaurant. Great downtown location next to an art store with a view of the art museum virtually across the street. Interior decor looks more like a place you'd find in Belltown or the U. District instead of Tacoma. Somewhat easier parking than Fujiya. But that's where my hopes are dashed. Starting with the waitresses, chefs, and management everything goes downhill. I've been to Twokoi two or three times now. Each time the place was somewhat slow with only two or three tables (max) occupied. That's including my table. The first time, we had this waitress. Chubby. Had a flower in her hair. A big flower. Lots of makeup. She took our order. And disappeared. For a long time. No drinks. Nothing. Finally, she meandered out of the kitchen and we flagged her down. She brought our drinks. But then we waited. And waited. And waited for our food. Starting with appetizers. Our sushi came out. But no appetizer. We asked her about that. She said, ""Oh, it didn't come out?""
Pros: great location, stylish interior
Cons: service is horrible despite virtually no customers and makes the average food seem REALLY not worth the trouble
