We had heard about this restaurant from friends and family who were passing through to San Antonio. We were also told to insist upon riverside seating. We did, and we were not sorry! It was noon and the sun was beating down on us, but with the big umbrella over us and the cool breeze carrying over from the river, we were relieved. We loved watching people float down the river in their inner tubes while we enjoyed a casual meal. I ordered the fresh trout ($11) while my wife ordered the beef tenderloin salad($9). The fish was a bit lean but pretty well seasoned. Her salad was huge! It was basically an 8oz. tenderloin filet cut into many pieces and tossed with salad greens and avocado. She loved it. I would've rather just had the filet on it's own =) Sadly, the dish that we remember the most wasn't our main dishes.. it was their unique "round-cut french fries"! Thin slices of potatoes - deep fried and lightly salted make perfect compliments for the food. The service was excellent and prompt. Reasonable prices, friendly service, and an outstanding view make this restaurant a "must-visit" for anyone in the New Braunfels area.
Pros: the atmospere is great. Round cut french fries!
Cons: avoid mid summer - it's super hot and humid and the river attracts tons of mosquitos
