This is different from all the other Filipino restaurants out there. The place has a ""homey"" feel to it. Small but doesn't feel like you are sharing your spot with the people on the next table. If you have had filipino food before then you know to expect fatty, arterial clogging menus. But I think you're allowed to have one once in awhile. Traditional filipino dishes are updated. Creativity and presentation is definitely upped here. I don't usually order appetizers because the serving here are ala carte so I want to save enough space for the main course. My favorite dish is the Crispy binagoongan. I've never tasted anything better binagoongan anywhere(even homemade ones). Its crispy pork on an eggplant with generous toppings of tomato and mango. Any of the sisig (pork, chicken, bangus, crabs) is a good choice. Their Kare kare is generous with ox tail and vegetables. They boast that they have the best Paella. I haven't really tried it since I prefer ordering my fave dishes (but maybe next time I will). definitely order the coconut juice that they serve in a shell. Or dont skip dessert. The bulo con seta always seems to be ordered. Its halohalo supreme. \r
Obviously I am Filipino for me to know what to order. I recommend having a filipino friend along for the first time. Or if you are adventurous enough, go without any Filipino companions. The servers would be great in recommending you dishes. Its the only Filipino restaurant I bring my nonfilipino friends to without feeling worried that the dish might not please.
Pros: creative dishes, robust taste of dishes, homey feel
Cons: long wait if no reservations
