DH spent 4 hours awake in the middle of the night with acid reflux from the wickedly sour sisig. Then he started rolfing. This morning, spent a lot of time in the loo too. Then took the day off. How much did this evening cost me, right? more

The place was a little difficult to find. The restaurant itself looked like a little hole-in-the-wall place, but the interior was beautifully decorated and classy. It was quiet and clean as well. I think the food was a little pricey, even when ordering from the lunch menu, but the plates had really nice presentation to them and the serving sizes were just right. The soup that went with our meal was simple, but extremely flavorful. I tried the pork sigsig for the first time, (fried pork belly with egg) and it was delicious.... I highly recommend it. more

We had to wait to be seated even though they had just opened. Our waiter took a little too long to take our order. We ordered lumpianitas, bicol express, sinigang na bangus belly, kare-kare, and turon ala mode. Of course my kids liked the lumpianitas. I liked the bicol express. My husband didn't like the bitter melon in the bicol express. My friends didn't care for the bicol express because they have tasted better elsewhere. The milkfish in the sinigang still had the scales on it. Overall, I look at the presentation and the atmosphere of the restaurant which was very good. more

This is different from all the other Filipino restaurants out there. The place has a ""homey"" feel to it. Small but doesn't feel like you are sharing your spot with the people on the next table. If you have had filipino food before then you know to expect fatty, arterial clogging menus. But I think you're allowed to have one once in awhile. Traditional filipino dishes are updated. Creativity and presentation is definitely upped here. I don't usually order appetizers because the serving here are ala carte so I want to save enough space for the main course. My favorite dish is the Crispy binagoongan. I've never tasted anything better binagoongan anywhere(even homemade ones). Its crispy pork on an eggplant with generous toppings of tomato and mango. Any of the sisig (pork, chicken, bangus, crabs) is a good choice. Their Kare kare is generous with ox tail and vegetables. They boast that they have the best Paella. I haven't really tried it since I prefer ordering my fave dishes (but maybe next time I will). definitely order the coconut juice that they serve in a shell. Or dont skip dessert. The bulo con seta always seems to be ordered. Its halohalo supreme. \r Obviously I am Filipino for me to know what to order. I recommend having a filipino friend along for the first time. Or if you are adventurous enough, go without any Filipino companions. The servers would be great in recommending you dishes. Its the only Filipino restaurant I bring my nonfilipino friends to without feeling worried that the dish might not please.
