Being a new condo owner in Chicago, I struggled with the decision of turning over our HOA and paying money to do so. After fielding questions that we as a Board did not have the knowledge to answer however, we decided after interviewing a few companies to hire Taylor Management to run our HOA. When we first spoke to Taylor, we were promised that they would handle the Developer that we were fighting with over projects not completed and that they would run our HOA as we had desired; efficiently, professionally and with little participation needed by the Directors. After 4 months of supervising to a level that we felt was extensive on our part as a Board, we decided to call in frustration and give once again our expectations. They had WRITTEN CHECK FROM OUR ACCOUNTS WITHOUT APPROVAL, not dealt with issues that we had asked them to and LOST PAYMENTS AND CRUCIAL PAPERWORK. At one point our insurer called for basic paperwork and was told that was lost also. They then fired US as an HOA, claiming we were to demanding. We had such a horrible experience that we again started interviewing and found a great company in HALES PROPERTY MANAGEMENT. In the brief month that we have been with them we have accomplished more than we could have imagined.
