Do NOT go to the Best Cellar in Blowing Rock. I expected to celebrate my 25th birthday at a great fine dining establishment, but was instead insulted and patronized by the owner/manager in front of everyone else at the restaurant over simple questions about our bill.\r \r Our waitress miscommunicated the charges for food substitutions, which made our bill A LOT higher than we suspected. My boyfriend's steak was charred after specific directions that he did not want it burned... my filet was fatty and cold... and the attitude of the wait staff was impatient. It wasn't until we asked to speak to the owner/manager about the extra charges on the bill that I was floored with even worse behavior. \r \r I have never been spoken to like that in a restaurant ever before. The owner insulted our intelligence, blamed us for not knowing about the extra charges (even though we were misled to begin with), and even used the free birthday dessert they gave me as collateral... I didn't even ASK for the dessert! \r \r The Best Cellar is a snotty establishment with rude management. I am still baffled by our treatment to this day.
