Best Cellar

This is a ""no brainer"" when making reservations, ask to be seated in the wine cellar, I have been here several time with very few disapointments! Pros: service is GREAT more

I, too, have a second home in the Blowing Rock area and have been dining out in the area for years, but every time we to give the Best Cellar another chance, something goes wrong. Either its the service, or the food, or both. We've even tried the one in Linville, but still the whole place doesn't live up to its reputation. A lot to pay for an average dining experience! My advice is to save some money and try some of the other restaurants in the area... there are some much better choices. Pros: Filet - if done right the first time (probability is low) Cons: Most everything - save your money, try something else more

I'm from NC and I my husband and I have a second home in Blowing Rock and The Best Cellar is one of our favorite places to go and relax. We have been there countless time and even when they have a full house the people there have always been great to us. I am shocked to read some of the other reviews because we have been going there for years and recomend it to all of our friends. I have never heard of anyone having a problem there. The blackened ribeye and the lamb chops are my husband's favorite, and he is always torn between them. I personally love my big glass of red wine with any of their meals. I highly recomend this place to anyone who lives near there or is in town for a special night. Pros: food, wine, service Cons: not recomended for kids more

Do NOT go to the Best Cellar in Blowing Rock. I expected to celebrate my 25th birthday at a great fine dining establishment, but was instead insulted and patronized by the owner/manager in front of everyone else at the restaurant over simple questions about our bill.\r \r Our waitress miscommunicated the charges for food substitutions, which made our bill A LOT higher than we suspected. My boyfriend's steak was charred after specific directions that he did not want it burned... my filet was fatty and cold... and the attitude of the wait staff was impatient. It wasn't until we asked to speak to the owner/manager about the extra charges on the bill that I was floored with even worse behavior. \r \r I have never been spoken to like that in a restaurant ever before. The owner insulted our intelligence, blamed us for not knowing about the extra charges (even though we were misled to begin with), and even used the free birthday dessert they gave me as collateral... I didn't even ASK for the dessert! \r \r The Best Cellar is a snotty establishment with rude management. I am still baffled by our treatment to this day.
