I've used 5-alarms for over 10 years. They installed systems at my former and current house. The equipment they use is good, no issues with that. Their service technicians are knowledge and do a good job. The people that handle the alarm-related calls (such as no power in the house, door opened, etc) are courteous, respond timely, and genuinely try to help. However, their sales / management are poor. Despite being a repeat / long-term customer, they continually fail to return my calls ASKING FOR A SYSTEM UPGRADE. I'm trying to SPEND MY MONEY WITH THEM and they won't even return my calls. This has been going on for over a year for this particular episode. It mirrors the last time I wanted them to guide me / give me a price on adding features to my system. Perhaps they gained so many customers that now they can't service those that only have 100's to spend on upgrades? I have left numerous messages, from courteous to irritated, that I would be cancelling my service if a return call didn't happen. Nothing happened. So if you deal with them, get what you need up front, because you'll never hear back from them later. I am actively looking for another company to handle my monitoring needs. Pros: Equipment works, phone operators are courteous / try hard. Cons: Management / sales won't call you back, even to take your money! more
